Turning up all over the place
Action by Sally November 1st, 2007You may, or may not, have seen a gazebo outside Sainsbury’s on Monday extolling the virtues of recycling. The lovely people from CDC Waste Management were there to answer questions about composting, recycling etc and also to give out free cotton shopping bags…… Hurrah!
They had invited us to join in, so I wandered down with a pile of flyers to add to the mix and stood encouraging the people of Chesham to take a free bag but should have added the words ‘don’t forget to actually use it’ because it was quite amazing the number of people who took a cotton bag, went into Sainbury’s and then re-appeared 5 minutes later with 4-5 items in a plastic bag…… *sigh* this could be a long campaign, folks!
Thanks to everyone (and there were a lot of you) who said encouraging things, carried their own bag and generally supported us.

Fantastic to see something being done in Chesham about this HUGE issue. Look forward to hearing more about it and good luck with it all!
