Chesham High Street

A big thanks you to everyone who took the time to speak with Sally and Donna in Chesham High Street this morning. We were conducting a survey of shoppers about using your own bags instead of taking carrier bags provided free in the shops. Sally is off to process the results.

Meanwhile, Julia was visiting some of the shops and finding out how they felt about offering alternatives to carrier bags and the kind of bags they need to offer shoppers.

As a result, we met with many people who were very supportive of the cause. We will be in and around Chesham at various events in the coming weeks, more news on that coming soon . Look out for us and give us a nod!

The publicity bus has started rolling….

Look out for us in the town this coming Saturday as we will be chatting with everyone we see asking opinions about our campaign. You’ll spot us, we’ll have clipboards and pens in our hands – and probably a few carrier bags of the alternative variety :>)

We’ve had our first meeting and found a great deal of enthusiasm and dedication for the cause. Helping a town become plastic bag free is a tall order, especially when there is just three of you. However, we have had a great deal of encouragement from various parties and we know there are more people ready to lend a hand.

We will be taking a stand at the Victorian Evening in Chesham on 30th November so please come and see us there and let us know how you feel about carrying a bag.
